This first series of Vaccination Facts focuses on preventable diseases and vaccine development. Each video and short story highlights a disease and the fascinating history that led to the development of a vaccine and population immunity. From the origins of inoculation, smallpox and polio to typhoid and the greater issue for global immunisation, this first series celebrates the victories and sheds light on the importance of immunity to our future public health. The next series will explore coronaviruses, COVID-19, meningococcal, flu, hepatitis and more diseases that today, vaccines are working to prevent.
